Wonderful toy; great even without its batteries   
My son and I love ALL the mega rig toys. This one comes complete with an astronaut and an alien; the alien has little sucker pads enabling you to stick him to any surface which is cool. You can push the rocket down so that it's horizontal and pointing forwards; a simple push of the button on the side flips the rocket to its upright position ready to launch. Your child can then stomp on the attached 'moon rock' (actually a squishy air-filled rubber part) to launch the air-powered rocket (no batteries required for this). It goes so high my 5-year old has hit the ceiling several times (the rocket is light enough and foam-tipped to prevent any damage). The toy does take batteries, but when I suggested to my son that we put some in he told me that he didn't want them. Hallelujah; no batteries. I almost cried for joy!!!
This is a wondeful toy; durable, educational (my son now wants to visit NASA), and fun for all ages. He played with his 9-year old cousin for many hours with this. Would highly recommend. :2010-12-02 08:09:17

This toy was great. It had so many options to play with I couldn't believe it. My grandson (5 years old) just loved it and played with it all Christmas day. I'd recommend it for any child below 10 years old. Purchase it without all the packaging since it comes out of the box ready to be played with instead of fighting with all the garbage. Great Toy for 4 Year Old Grandson

Great toy!

Great complement to the space rig!   
If you get the space rig, you HAVE to get this one to go with it. It's the missle launcher and basically, it's a stomp rocket but it's so very cool. It has been loved by everyone who has played with it in this house, it's built VERY well, extremely durable, and is so well made that it doesn't even look as if anyone has played with it. Great for 3+,   
We bought this plus the space shuttle set last Christmas. These are the best toys we have ever purchased. They enjoy making new creations and the pretend play involved. Any time we have a guest over, they too love this toy. It is durable. Both of my boys (3 yrs and 6 yrs) take this toy out again and again.
My older boy loves Legos and this is a nice alternative. It is still construction, but his little brother can play with him and it is less frustrating.
The only cons we have found is that on the shuttle the shooters broke early on. And, although it sounds cool to have the rover rove, it means that they can't manually roll it around, which I think would be more fun. This was a great buy for the price we paid. I almost wonder what could I get this year that would even come close. Maybe I'll take the time to wash it back to white again and put it back under the tree! :2010-12-02 08:07:08

My Nephew LOVES It   
I purchased this item for my 5 year old nephew for his birthday. He has several Mega-Rig items and really plays with them a lot. He is fickle--many other toys get discarded after a week or so; however, he always goes back to the Mega-Rig toys because they are so versatile.
He has the space shuttle set (which he loves) so I bought this to complement it. He told me it was the "best" present he got for his birthday, he was very excited to receive it. :2010-12-02 08:06:50

Grandson and his cousin LOVE this toy   
I bought this for my grandson and when his cousin comes over to play they immediately head for this set (he has the rocket thing that goes with this. It seems well made and has lasted through those two and their 'playtime'. They can take it apart and build different shaped vehicles. I think I will buy him another one of these types of toys from matchbox. Believe they have pirates and all kinds of things. If everyone gets a different bit of this toy, the kid will be happy, parents will be happy (too many toys). It really is a very nice set. :2010-12-02 08:06:30

Love This Toy   
We Love this toy and have many of the other mega rigs as well! My 3 year old son plays with these daily. He loves that the pieces are all interchangable and he can create tons of different vehicles.
